2024 President
Attorney Trerod Hall

"It is my honor and pleasure to serve as the 2024 President of The J.L. Turner Legal Association. Our esteemed organization was founded in 1952, formerly known as "The Barrister's Club", and has reached over 70 years in existence.

Our Founders' mission to improve the quality of life for our community, resonates today as we live in the times of attacks on diversity, equity and inclusion, attacks on affirmative action, and attacks on the livelihood of minority citizens. As a member of JLTLA, you are a part of history, and we encourage you to get involved as a mentor, committee chair, or future board member.

We are an affiliate chapter of both the Dallas Bar Association and the National Bar Association. Our members are leaders in both larger organizations and are trailblazers in our legal community. We urge you to also join those organizations as we partner with them on a Regional and National level to answer the call to service."

President, Trerod Hall

JLTLA Member Spotlight:
Attorney Byron Bailey

Byron received a BBA in Entrepreneurship from Texas Christian University and his Juris Doctorate at Texas A&M University School. Upon commencement from law school, Byron began his career in Insurance Defense, helping big insurance companies save money in personal injury and construction matters. After 5 years greasing big box insurance companies’ pockets, Byron became a Plaintiff’s attorney and now advocates for people injured in motor vehicle accidents. Thus, Byron hung out his shingle, and Byron C. Bailey & Associates was born.

Byron is also a civic servant. He is a State Championship Lacrosse Coach, a 2024 DAYL Leadership Class member, and an Undergraduate Advisor for Texas Christian University’s Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He is also a SWBLSA mentor of two students at Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University. Byron is also a proud father to a wonderful five-year-old son. In his spare time, Byron loves to consume leadership and entrepreneurship books and podcasts, frequent museums, theater shows, and concerts, and frequent parks and playgrounds with his son.
